He joined the police because a friend told him to, and Bill never learned how to say no. As it turned out, his mediocrity was exactly what the police were looking for.

Bill and Stella

At work Bill met Stella Ramos, the love of his life, his muse and his confidant, and the two married. Now and then they manage to arrange their shifts so they can spend an evening together in their small flat in a megabuilding. Bill looks at Stella and wonders whether he is good enough for her. His attempts to break out of his dull life are plain to see.
