Eternal Bond Quest Guide

A Game of Wits is a side quest given by the Sphinx in the Mountain Shrine. It starts when you reach the shrine, north of Checkpoint Rest Town, and speak to the Sphinx.

  1. Travel north from Checkpoint Rest Town through the Ancient Battleground and Worldsend Cavern, then follow the Shrine Corridor and climb the stairs to the Sphinx. Each riddle allows a single answer, and a wrong one ends the game, so save before every reply.
  2. Riddle of Eyes: bring the Sphinx the Sealing Phial from the chest in the room beyond her door. Keep it unused, as drinking it ruins the riddle.
  3. Riddle of Madness: present your Main Pawn or the character you have romanced.
  4. Riddle of Wisdom: recruit a pawn named SphinxFather, SphinxMother or SphinxParent from the Rift and bring it to the Sphinx.
  5. Riddle of Conviction: give the Sphinx any item. She hands back a copy of it as your reward.
  6. Riddle of Rumination: return to the spot where you picked up your first Seeker's Token this playthrough, take the Finder's Token lying there and give it to the Sphinx.
  7. Riddle of Reunion: find the Sphinx again at the Frontier Shrine, west of Checkpoint Rest Town along the river. Reaching her solves the riddle, and the chest on the left holds 100,000 G.
  8. Riddle of Recollection: bring her the person she asks to see, either Dante or Vergil from Checkpoint Rest Town.
  9. Riddle of Contest: wear the Ring of Derision the Sphinx gives you and defeat the opponent she sets against you. Victory earns the Ring of Ambition; take the Ring of Derision off afterwards.
  10. Riddle of Futility: carry the Sphinx's amphora to Ser Maurits in Battahl without breaking it, or bring him to the amphora instead. Solving it earns the Eternal Bond.
  11. Riddle of Differentiation: answer the final riddle at the Frontier Shrine.
  12. Attack the Sphinx as she tries to fly away and defeat her. An Archer can loose the Unmaking Arrow to kill her at once.
  13. Unlock the chest behind her spot with the key she drops and take the Eternal Wakestone to complete the quest.

Rewards: 100,000 G, 1,200 RC, Wakestone, Portcrystal, 3 Ferrystones, Unmaking Arrow, Ring of Derision, Ring of Ambition, Eternal Bond, Whimsical Daydream, Eternal Wakestone
