The Messmer Soldier Armor (Altered) is a piece of chest armor in Elden Ring. It belongs to the Messmer Soldier Set. It comes from the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion.
The Messmer Soldier Armor (Altered) is the altered form of the armor worn by the soldiers who serve Messmer the Impaler, its mail rusted from unending war and its Scadutree motif engraved in gold as a small consolation to those fighting without grace or honor. Altering it at any Site of Grace changes its look and cuts more than a point of weight while keeping the same physical defense and poise. That makes the altered version the more efficient medium weight chest piece of the two. It suits strength builds that want the Messmer soldier look with a lighter load.
Stats
It offers 18 poise for 8.1 weight.
Altering
Its unaltered form, Messmer Soldier Armor, weighs 9.2 instead of 8.1 and keeps the same 18 poise. Altering works at any Site of Grace.
