The Gainer is one of the best pistols you can get early in [Fallout 4:Fallout 4|Fallout 4]]. It's a unique .44 pistol renowned for its ability to shoot incendiary bullets. This capability comes from the Incendiary Legendary effect, adding an extra 15 points of fire damage over time to each shot, making it particularly deadly as it not only impacts immediate damage but also continues to harm the target with burning over a short period.

How to get the The Gainer
You can get the Gainer as early as level 1 in Fallout 4 by visiting the Vitale pumphouse, an unmarked location south from the Hub City Auto Wreckers, and easy from Finch farm. The pumphouse is located by the river near under the car park.
- Once inside the pumphouse, head downstairs where you will find a locked door and a device where you can enter a code.
- The code can be seen written on the wall behind you (0, 4, 5, 1). To input the code you must press the buttons repeatedly, the number displayed above each button will then increase by one with each press. However, since you cannot input a 0 at the start of the code, a 10 must be inputted instead, leaving the actual code as 10, 4, 5, 1.
- This will open the door where you will find a body alongside the legendary pistol, the gainer!
