Ancient Swords are huge swords lying on the ground or standing upright in the Mistlands. Mine them with a Black Metal Pickaxe or better and they drop Scrap Iron and Copper Scrap.
Where to Find It
Sword sites need solid Mistlands ground, from 1 m below sea level upwards with no more than 10 m of height difference, and they keep 256 m apart. There are three layouts, with up to 33 of each in a world. Swords often lie in groups, sometimes next to Ancient Armor, and the full Giant Remains skeleton has a 25% chance of one in its stomach. Some patches of the Mistlands spawn as a sword variant with extra swords and armour.
What's Inside
The first layout has an upright sword with its hilt, two hiltless swords lying down and a fourth sword with a hilt, plus a piece of Ancient Armor. The second has a hilted sword lying down, an upright hiltless one and a piece of Ancient Armor. The third has up to four swords lying on a rock, two with hilts and two without. Each sword has its own spawn chance, between 37.5% and 75%. Every sword is made of 15 nodes, needs tool tier 3 and only takes pickaxe damage.
