The Mistlands are jagged black crags under a permanent fog that hugs the ground, threaded with glowing ancient roots and littered with the skeletons of giants. You cannot see far, the ground drops away without warning, and the seekers can fly. This is where magic comes from.
Locations
The Mistlands run from 5,900 m out to 10,000 m, the outermost ring before the world edge. The coast is sheer cliff and rocky bars, so just landing a longship takes work.
| Location | Image | What's Inside |
|---|---|---|
| Infested Mine | A dungeon under black marble. Seekers, ticks, black cores, royal jelly and the sealbreaker fragments. | |
| Infested Citadel | A sealed dvergr vault opened with a sealbreaker. The Queen is inside. | |
| Dvergr Tower | Black marble and blue jute, held by dvergr who stay peaceful until you break something. One component crate each. | |
| Dvergr Excavation Site | Stake walls around a pit, with the extractor rigged over giant remains. | |
| Dvergr Harbor | Docks, a crane and mist lights, with crates and chains to strip. | |
| Giant Remains | A rib cage or a skull. Roughly 390 black marble per set, plus soft tissue inside the skull. | |
| Rock Spire | A tall terraced rock. Three in four hold a dvergr treasure chest at the top. |
Boss
You do not summon The Queen in the open. She lives inside the Infested Citadel, behind a runed dvergr vault that only the sealbreaker opens. Its nine fragments sit in glass cases across the infested mines. She has 12,500 health, starts teleporting once she is hurt, and hatches seekers out of the floor as she fights.
She drops majestic carapace and opens the way to the Drakkar and the Ashlands. Her power doubles eitr regeneration and lets you sneak without spending stamina. The door she was sealed behind reads: "We sealed the door and scattered the key. Leave her be."

Hazards
- The mist itself is permanent and waist-high, and it is why you walk off ledges. A wisplight, wisp torches or any Mistlands weapon push it back.
- The terrain drops away without warning. Until they have the feather cape, falling is what kills most people here.
- Seekers fly, move fast, and deal almost all their damage as pierce.
- A gjall floats overhead, spitting fire and dropping ticks three at a time. Its weak point is the egg cluster underneath.
- Ticks latch on and chew through your health twice a second.
- The dvergr stay neutral until you damage one of their buildings. Then every one nearby turns on you, with fireballs, frost novas and summoned mistiles.
Lore
The jotunn stone reads: "Here lie the Jotunn, most ancient of all Odin's kin and fiercest of all his adversaries. In life they were bringers of ruin but now, in death, they nurture new growth."
The dvergr descend from the great smiths. Cut off from their kin in Nidavellir, they mine the bones of the giants and distil eitr. Leave them alone and they ignore you; attack them and they defend themselves.
The best stone in the biome is about the fog. A party of seven kept counting eight, and by morning the eighth was gone. "Trust nothing in the mist."
Notes
- The wisp chain starts with Yagluth. Torn spirits build a wisp fountain, wisps gather around it after dark, and a wisp plus silver makes the wisplight.
- A wisp torch burns without fuel. It does not count as a player base, so mobs still spawn around it.
- Magecap is the first food that gives eitr. Magecaps and jotun puffs grow only here and need open sky, and the wild ones do not respawn.
- An eitr refinery gives off lightning and poison while it runs. Build it inside black marble, which is immune to both.
- Black marble and carapace can go through a portal. Black metal, iron, copper scrap and the dvergr extractor cannot.
- The feather cape removes all fall damage and is how you survive the terrain. It also doubles the fire damage you take, so take it off for gjall.
