Bloody Baron is a main quest in Velen. Hendrik's notes say that Ciri stayed with the Bloody Baron, the self-proclaimed ruler of Velen. Geralt rides to Crow's Perch, the baron's seat, to ask about her. The baron did meet Ciri, but he wants something in return for the rest of the story.
Bloody Baron Map Location and Quest Guide
Bloody Baron map location:
- Ride to Crow's Perch and up the hill to the castle gate.
- Talk to the guards at the gate.
- If the guards let Geralt in, follow the sergeant to the baron.
- If the guards turn Geralt away, search the village for another way in.
- Talk to the old man near the castle.
- Pay the old man 15 crowns for directions, or find the way alone.
- Go to the spot northwest of the castle where a drowned boy was found.
- Dive under the water and swim into the cave below Crow's Perch.
- Kill the water hag in the cave.
- Climb the ladder up through the old well into the castle gardens.
- Talk to the baron.

Choices
The welcome at Crow's Perch depends on The Nilfgaardian Connection. Geralt may have fought the baron's men at the Inn at the Crossroads. In that case the guards refuse him at the gate. He must then sneak in through the cave and the old well.
If Geralt kept the peace at the inn, the guards let him in. Some of them ask for 15 crowns first. The sergeant then leads Geralt straight to the baron.
