Hendrik is a Nilfgaardian spy who works in Velen for the imperial spy corps. He lives in the village of Heatherton. Geralt goes looking for him during the quest The Nilfgaardian Connection.
Lore
Hendrik is almost certainly not the man's real name. Spy corps of every kind work that way. Still, it is the only name Geralt knows for the emperor's agent in Velen. Hendrik has been gathering information on Ciri for the empire.
Story
Geralt asks around and learns that a man called Hendrik lives in Heatherton. He arrives too late. The Wild Hunt has struck the village and killed its people. Hendrik's service to Nilfgaard has ended in a violent and disturbing way.
Hendrik shows great resolve before he dies. He suffers horrible torture, yet he prefers to die in agony rather than reveal where he hid his reports. Vattier de Rideaux, the head of the imperial spy corps, would surely be proud of him. The reports stay hidden in Hendrik's hut for Geralt to find. They give Geralt important leads on Ciri. The leads start the quests Bloody Baron and Hunting a Witch.
