Exploding Bolt is the best bolt in the game. It is a fire damage crossbow bolt in a Magic crafted variant and a Relic variant. The Relic variant deals 18-22 fire damage with +20 piercing and +15 silver. The crafted diagram is in an iron chest in the Isolated Shack. The crafted variant is early game, while the Relic variant only goes on sale from level 25 in the mid game.
The crafted variant deals 11-13 fire damage with +12 piercing and +12 silver. The Relic variant adds 7-9 fire, 8 piercing and 3 silver on top of that.

How to Get Exploding Bolt
- Magic (crafted): Take Diagram: Exploding Bolt from the iron chest in the Isolated Shack, or buy it from the Fish Market blacksmith, the Silverton blacksmith or Éibhear Hattori. Each craft makes a stack of 20. A chest at the Scoia'tael camp in Spooked Mare holds 10-20 bolts.
- Relic: From level 25, buy them from the blacksmith at Kaer Trolde citadel or Éibhear Hattori. Arnvald's locked chest at Kaer Trolde also holds 20.
