Palmerin de Launfal is a knight errant from Toussaint and an old friend of Geralt. He comes to Velen with Milton de Peyrac-Peyran as an envoy of Duchess Anna Henrietta. Geralt meets him in the first Blood and Wine main quest, Envoys, Wineboys.
Lore
Not every knight errant in Toussaint lives up to the chivalric code, but Palmerin does. Years ago he loved eating, drinking and every kind of merrymaking. With time he left those vices behind and grew closer to the knightly ideal.
Palmerin is old-fashioned and a little naive. He takes formalities and courtesies a bit too seriously. Even so, he is never pompous or grand, and he makes a good impression on Geralt.
Story
Geralt meets Palmerin and Milton in the village of Holloway in Velen. The two knights have decided to wage war on some local bandits. Palmerin wants to settle the matter peacefully. He hopes to appeal to the robbers' sense of decency and turn them toward virtue. If Geralt lets the knights face the bandits, Palmerin tries his best, but a bloody fight breaks out. Geralt can also talk the knights out of the fight. Either way, the three then ride for Toussaint.
On the road into the duchy, they help a young knight bring down the giant Golyat. Later, Geralt finds Palmerin outside the tourney grounds, telling a story to a group of children. Palmerin then takes Geralt to meet the duchess. In the tourney arena, Palmerin joins Geralt against a blind shaelmaar.
During the tourney in The Warble of a Smitten Knight, Geralt meets Palmerin again at the shooting range. Palmerin offers a game of gwent. If Geralt wins, Palmerin will swap his turn at the targets with him.
Relationships
Milton de Peyrac-Peyran is his fellow envoy and companion on the road from Velen. Milton dies soon after they reach Toussaint, as the Beast's fourth victim.
