The Squire's Steel Sword is a steel sword from Blood and Wine in Master, Magic and Relic quality. The Relic variant deals 368.4-450.4 damage at level 46 and gives +200 armor piercing. Iocaste carries it in Mutual of Beauclair's Wild Kingdom, and the lower variants lie in Toussaint chests. Every variant is late-game gear, with looted Master copies at level 42 to 44 and Magic copies at 43 to 45.

The Relic variant gives +200 armor piercing, +25% Yrden sign intensity, +75% crit damage, +10% crit chance and +15% burn chance. The Yrden bonus and the burning damage over time suit a signs hybrid that still fights with the sword. It has 3 rune slots.

The Master variant gives +150 armor piercing and 1 random Master effect. The Magic variant gives +175 armor piercing, 2 random Magic effects and 1 rune slot.

How to Get Squire's Steel Sword

• Relic: During Mutual of Beauclair's Wild Kingdom at the Trading Post, kill Iocaste and loot the sword.
• Magic: Open the chest next to the Place of Power in Albertus Grotto, or the big chest at Basane Farm.
• Master: Look next to a skeleton near the dead woman's body at Seidhe Llygad Amphitheater, or in the chest near The Ruddy Brush Auberge entrance at Fox Hollow.
• All blacksmiths in Toussaint except the one at Ardaiso Quarry sell the Master and Magic variants.

The pin marks Mutual of Beauclair's Wild Kingdom, a Blood and Wine quest posted on The Cockatrice Inn notice board. The relic Squire's Steel Sword drops from Iocaste, a silver basilisk, but only if Geralt kills her instead of taking Count Borhis di Salvaress's money to spare her.

1. Take the notice from The Cockatrice Inn notice board and go to the Trading Post northeast of Coronata Vineyard.
2. Examine the clues in the wrecked camp with Witcher Senses until Count Borhis di Salvaress rides in.
3. Examine the smashed barrels of tannin and follow the scent into the woods.
4. Follow the blood stains to a corpse, then pick up the scent again toward Venin Rocks.
5. Meet the Crinfrid Reavers hunting the basilisk.
6. Choose to kill Iocaste, then fight her with the reavers' help.
7. Loot her corpse for the Squire's Steel Sword.
