Armor Piercing

Armor piercing is a flat weapon bonus written as "+N Armor piercing". Enemy armor reduces the damage Geralt deals, and armor piercing is one way through it. It appears on swords, bolts and the Svarog Runestone.

How It Works

  • Armor reduces incoming damage. Higher armor subtracts more damage before it reaches Vitality.
  • A blacksmith sockets runestones into weapon upgrade slots. Removing a runestone destroys it, and dismantling the weapon returns it.

Gear With Armor Piercing

Item Image Armor Piercing
Toussaint Knight's Steel Sword (Relic) Toussaint Knight's Steel Sword +300

The Bolt With Bait also adds +5 silver damage.

Skills

Remastered rebuilt the skill trees with three ranks per skill. Three skills cut through enemy armor at rank 1:

  • Rend: deals extra damage in proportion to the Stamina consumed and ignores enemy defenses. Each Adrenaline Point raises its total damage by 10%.
  • Sunder Armor: Strong Attacks sunder enemy armor and lower enemy damage resistance by 10%, stacking once.
  • Melt Armor: Igni damage also reduces enemy Armor, more at higher ranks, and adds +10% Burning chance.

Before Remastered

Old Melt Armor made Igni damage permanently weaken enemy armor, up to 15%, 30% and 45% at levels 1 to 3.
