Data Recycler refunds most of the RAM spent on hacks that never got to finish. When an enemy dies with quickhacks still queued on them, nearly all of that cost comes back. It sits in the netrunning branch of the Intelligence tree. It removes the penalty for overcommitting.

Queuing several hacks on one enemy is how a netrunner kills quickly, and the risk is that the target dies early and the rest of the queue is wasted.

With this perk there is no waste. The queue can be filled without hesitation, because anything the corpse did not need is returned to the bar and spent on the next enemy instead.

It sits behind the Pro gate of the Intelligence tree, so a solid run of points comes first.

Character Builds

The build is a netrunner that commits several hacks to one enemy and does not hesitate about it.

Buy it at the Pro gate, where nothing has to be bought ahead of it. Speculation covers the case where a combat hack takes the kill and this one covers the hacks that never finished, so a build with both is refunded whichever way the enemy dies.

Speculation returns RAM based on the hacks affecting a target killed by a combat quickhack, so the two cover different ways of finishing.

Queue Mastery at the top of the tree locks a full queue until it has all uploaded, which changes when this refund applies.
