Ring of Purification Quest Guide
A Poisonous Proposal is a side quest given by Jarle in Bakbattahl. It opens after the main quest Nation of the Lambent Flame, when you step into his home near The Rockmouse's Burrow.
- Enter Jarle's Home through its downstairs door and speak to Jarle. He asks you to be poisoned so he can study the effects.
- Travel to one of the marked Asp spots near the city. Order your Pawns to wait so the Asps live long enough to poison you.
- Return to Jarle while the poison is still active. Keep your Pawns from curing you and avoid any curative on the way.
- Head to the marked Venin Harpy spots south of Bakbattahl during the day. Clear the other monsters there first, then let a Venin Harpy poison you.
- Bring the poison back to Jarle again before it wears off.
- Prepare spare Wakestones and join Jarle at the meeting place by the Chimera's lair.
- Fight the Chimera with your Pawns and get Jarle behind it, where the snake on its tail can poison him. Keep its attention away from him, revive him with a Wakestone if he falls, and spare the Chimera until he is poisoned.
- Follow Jarle as he heads home on his own, and revive him if he dies on the road.
- Speak to Jarle at his home to complete the quest.
Outcomes:
- Jarle survives: the full reward listed below.
- Jarle dies and stays dead: the quest still ends, with a smaller reward.
- The Chimera dies before Jarle is poisoned: the quest fails and Jarle leaves to find someone else.
Rewards: 5,000 XP, 19,000 G, Ring of Purification
