Glyndwr, the brother of Doireann, displays genuine curiosity and respect towards humans, their language, and tools. As an NPC in Dragon's Dogma 2, Glyndwr offers his companionship and assistance in translating the elven language for Arisen. Throughout the game, Glyndwr fulfill various roles, including guiding players through quests, providing trade as a merchant and offering quests.
A young elf with an air of gentleness and timidity that is rare among the usually haughty elves. He is interested in the tools humans use and is fluent in human language. He despairs his lack of skill in archery, which is essential for an elven guard.
Story
Glyndwr is the son of Taliesin and comes from the Sacred Arbor. Unlike most elves, who rarely leave the forest, his curiosity about humans has drawn him to Vernworth, where the Arisen finds him wandering the streets alone.
In Gift of the Bow, the Arisen gives him a bow and then meets him at the ruins north of Trevo Mine to show him how to use it. Glyndwr copies what he sees, and the lesson gives him the confidence to face his coming Trial of Archery. He chooses to take the Arisen's bow into the trial rather than one of elven make.
A Trial of Archery follows. Glyndwr leads the Arisen to the Sacred Arbor, only to learn from his father that the trial has been suspended because an Ogre has taken his sister. Told to stay behind with the others who have not yet passed, he goes after her anyway. His arrow strikes the Ogre from a great distance and frees Doireann, a feat beyond the nerve of many elves who have already passed the trial. Taliesin praises the change in his son's form and thanks the Arisen for introducing him to the new bow. Should Doireann die, Glyndwr is left crushed by grief and by his failure, with little hope of recovering.
Relationships
Glyndwr is the older brother of Doireann, who owes her grasp of human words to him.
He can be romanced by an Arisen of either gender. Once his affinity is high enough, he counts as the Arisen's beloved for the second riddle of the Sphinx in A Game of Wits.
At high affinity Glyndwr may also ask the Arisen to escort him from the Arisen's house in Vernworth along the road towards the Ancient Battleground, hoping to show how far his archery has come. In the letter he sends afterwards, he promises to keep training for his family and his people, so that he can still stand as an equal beside the Arisen once the Arisen rules Vermund.
Location
Glyndwr first appears in Vernworth, standing beside Roderick's Smithy in the Merchant Quarter. Later he can be found at the Mountain Ruins just south of the Sacred Arbor, where a Chimera also roams. Once all of his quests are done, he spends time around the Vernworth oxcart that runs to Checkpoint Rest Town and strolls through the city, stopping at places such as the barber.
Gifts
Glyndwr likes Beautiful items and Fancy items. Beautiful items include flowers, shards and other things pleasing to the eye, while Fancy items are costly goods from merchants such as rings and curatives. Giving him these raises his affinity even outside his quests.
Notes
Blighting Arrow can be stolen from him.
