Phaesus is a human lord of Battahl who resides at the Flamebearer Palace in Bakbattahl and keeps his own chamber in the Forbidden Magick Research Lab. He is one of the minds behind the false Arisen, and the Arisen's search for the secrets of the godsway leads straight to him.
Story
Together with Queen Regent Disa, Phaesus stands behind the false Arisen who sits on the throne of Vermund. When the Arisen reaches the border gate at Checkpoint Rest Town, Phaesus happens to pass through into Battahl just ahead. A letter from Disa addressed to Lord Phaesus later turns up in his laboratory. Once Ambrosius has forged the Empowered Godsbane Blade, the Arisen is told to deliver it to Phaesus. Phaesus and his men pass through the Spellseal Door south of the Flamebearer Palace, the gigantus Talos rises from the sea and pursues him, and he presses on to Moonglint Tower. There he means to create a dragon and take control of the world's fate. In the Unmoored World, Phaesus has taken in the Arisen's pawn, who lies at his laboratory. Facing the world's destruction, he works to hold it back. He stands with the Arisen as Talos battles the red clouds, and he leads the way through Bakbattahl when a pillar of light brings monsters into the city.
