The Ash of War: Shield Strike is an Ash of War in Elden Ring that grants the Standard affinity and the Shield Strike skill. It is part of the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion.
Shield Strike turns the shield into a weapon, attacking with it directly, and repeated inputs allow up to three follow-up attacks. It costs no FP and lets an off-hand shield attack instead of triggering the main weapon's skill. Thrusting shields gain the most, dealing pierce damage and more stance damage while staying partly guarded. It suits shield users who want to attack with the shield itself, especially with thrusting shields.
Stats
It grants the Standard affinity and a Whetblade can switch it to Heavy, Keen, Quality, Fire, Flame Art, Lightning, Sacred, Magic, Cold, Poison, Blood or Occult. The skill costs no FP. It fits Small Shield, Medium Shield, Greatshield and Thrusting Shield.

Skill
Chain the inputs into a full combo against enemies that are open, and stop early if they start to counter. Small, medium and thrusting shield strikes can be parried, while greatshield strikes cannot. The attack chain counts as light attacks, so the Twinblade Talisman boosts its final hit.
