Lost Ashes of War is a tool in Elden Ring. It is a mid-game find.
Lost Ashes of War are empty ashes with no battle memories left. They cannot be put on a weapon as they are. Smithing Master Hewg at the Roundtable Hold uses them to copy another Ash of War. Only a fixed number can be found in each playthrough.
Use
Giving one to Smithing Master Hewg creates a copy of an Ash of War already held. The copy lets the same skill go on two weapons at once.
"Empty ashes of war, devoid of any memories of battle. Unable to apply any kind of affinity in their current state, but can be used by Smithing Master Hewg of the Roundtable Hold to recreate other ashes. Thus does the copy pass into becoming the genuine article."
How to Get Lost Ashes of War Guide
- Buy one from the Isolated Merchant in his shack at the far west of the Weeping Peninsula.
- Buy more from the Isolated Merchant south of the Main Academy Gate, the Hermit Merchant at the Uhl Palace Ruins and the Isolated Merchant in Dragonbarrow.
- Pick up others at the Ruin-Strewn Precipice, the front gate of Leyndell, Royal Capital, the Subterranean Shunning-Grounds, Sellia Hideaway and Miquella's Haligtree.
- Bring them to Smithing Master Hewg at the Roundtable Hold and choose Duplicate Ash of War.
Sold by Isolated Merchant at Weeping Peninsula for 3,000 runes.
