Guardian Golem is a dungeon boss in Elden Ring.
The Guardian Golem is a towering stone construct with a great halberd that guards the depths of Highroad Cave. The cave lies in the far north of Limgrave, reached by following the river. The golem is slow, but its sweeps and slams hit very hard and it breathes fire on anything at its feet. Once its stance breaks, a critical hit to its chest deals huge damage.
Lore
The golem is a giant warrior of black stone. Fire and lava glow through the plates on its chest, and it can pour flame out through its helmet. It wields a black stone halberd of surprising reach.
Golems were built long ago to defend a civilization that has since fallen to ruin. Their halberds and great arrows were crafted by that lost people.
A golem crafter is said to have worked with a tool of impure crystal, much like the Crystal Dart.

Attacks
- Axe Sweep: the halberd sweeps across the floor; roll against the direction of the sweep.
- Axe Stab: it drives the halberd's hilt into the ground without aiming; stay behind its legs and attack.
- Hilt Sweep: the hilt sweeps beside its legs when a foe stands close; roll behind the legs.
- Cleave: it raises the axe behind its head and brings it down with a shockwave; run in, then roll or jump the wave and punish the long recovery.
- Mega Stab: it steps back, plants the hilt with a shockwave and pulls it free with a second one; roll the first and jump the second.
- Axe Charge: it charges with the axe head on the ground, then hurls stones; roll the charge, then roll toward the stones.
- Pool of Fire: it leans down and breathes fire beneath itself while stepping back; run away until it stops.
- Fire Jet: from range it breathes fire across the arena; run past its head or move with the flames.
Tactics
- Stay just behind its legs, where most attacks miss.
- Hit the ankles with two charged heavy attacks to topple it.
- Land a critical hit on its chest as soon as it falls.
- Run away the moment it leans down to breathe fire at its feet.
- Ranged builds can shoot its ankles from the start until it topples.
- Summon Spirit Ashes to help wear down its large health pool.
Best Builds
Heavy strike weapon
Charged heavy attacks break its stance quickly, and strike damage gets through its stone body best.
Ranged attacks at the ankles
The golem is slow and has few long range attacks, so shooting its legs topples it safely.
Summons
Spirit Ashes allowed
Drops
Defeating it grants 1,700 runes.
