Craft The Improved Grappling Hook is a main quest from the Alchemist in the Springlands. It follows the fight at the Hill of Scavengers, where slaying the boss Scavenger Matron reveals how to build a better hook. The Improved Grappling Hook costs less stamina for each use. It can also latch onto anchors from further away. The Carpenter builds it in the base. The recipe uses up the old Grappling Hook, so the improved hook takes its place in the backpack. Its other materials are Shroud Cores, Shroud Liquid and Shroud Spores.

The quest is a single craft once the boss Scavenger Matron is dead.

1. Defeat the boss Scavenger Matron at the Hill of Scavengers to learn the recipe.
2. Gather 1 Shroud Core, 2 Shroud Liquid and 3 Shroud Spores.
3. Bring the basic Grappling Hook back to the base.
4. Craft the Improved Grappling Hook with the Carpenter to finish the quest.
