Crown Of Sorrow is a main quest from the Flame, and it opens the road to the Cinder's Cradle. The Flame needs a relic of Lord Vorgoth to grow strong enough for the last stretch of the Shroud. That relic is the Broken Guard Of The North Crown, the shattered crown of a lord who lost his mind and his legacy. It waits on the throne of the Cromville Throne Room, high in the castle above Cromville in the Veilwater Basin. Bringing it back lets the Flame climb to level 10. That level raises Shroud removal far enough to survive the deadly Shroud on the way to the Cinder's Cradle.
Walkthrough
The quest sends the player into Vorgoth's ruined castle in the north of the Veilwater Basin. The crown is the only piece needed for the quest, and the rest of the work is gathering materials for the Flame.
- Head north from the Cromville Hot Spring and climb the ramparts to reach the castle.
- Fight through the castle and climb the stairs to the Cromville Throne Room.
- Go up to the main throne and pick up the Broken Guard Of The North Crown.
- Gather the other upgrade materials: 60 Spark, 15 Gleam Root Dust, 10 Piscine Ivory Dust, 30 Drak Blood, 10 Shroud Sludge and 30 Daylily. The base also needs 16 survivors.
- Return to a Flame Altar and strengthen the Flame to level 10 to finish the quest.
Bombs help when the way into the throne room is blocked. A full set of upgrade materials before the trip saves a second journey, because the crown is useless until the Flame is upgraded.
