The Blacksmith's Request starts with a strange, gushing letter to Oswald Anders, the Blacksmith, signed by someone he does not know. The trail runs through the couriers' route: Trade Outpost "Blazing Rock", the Conway Camp and finally Jasper Isles in Umber Hollow. The couriers lost the real gift there and wrote the fake letter to cover it. The gift is the Smithing Tools, which unlock advanced armour.
Walkthrough
The quest step by step:
- Finish Reach The Capital, Pikemead's Reach, then speak to the Blacksmith.
- Travel to Trade Outpost "Blazing Rock" and investigate the letter.
- Follow the missing shipment to the Conway Camp. The Conway brothers took a shortcut through Umber Hollow.
- Explore Jasper Isles, where the Conways were attacked and fled.
- Find the Smithing Tools left behind and place them in the base.
The real letter, from his daughter Rochelle, also turns up at Jasper Isles. It leads to the follow-up quest The Blacksmith's Family.

Prerequisites
This quest follows Reach The Capital, Pikemead's Reach, which the Blacksmith gives after Crucible Needed For A Smelter. He feels a dark presence in the capital and fears a strange glow from the riverbed. The city has fallen, so the trail leads through it to The Pike, the castle behind it. An eerie silence hangs over the castle until the beast in its courtyard appears. Defeating the boss Fell Wispwyvern gives its head, which strengthens the Flame to level 4.
