The Fell Wispwyvern is a unique boss of Enshrouded, found only at The Pike in Pikemead's Reach. Killing it is part of the quest Reach The Capital, Pikemead's Reach, and its head pays for Flame level 4.
Fell Wispwyvern Location
The castle courtyard in the northernmost part of Pikemead's Reach, the old capital in the far northeast of the map, just northeast of the Northern Caravan Camp. Glide northeast from the Revelwood Ancient Spire to Huckster Square south of the Imperial Gardens and push north through the town, passing two joined Elixir Wells. At the Imperial Gardens entrance the big castle door stays shut; use the grappling point on its left (west) side to reach a small room with stairs, go up and around, and drop into the courtyard. The route crosses Shroud and lava that you have to skirt, so a Flame Altar just south of the capital helps after a death. The Blacksmith's quest Reach The Capital, Pikemead's Reach marks the way.

Abilities
| Ability | Effect | Counter |
|---|---|---|
| Shroud Spray | Rises onto its hind legs, points its head at the sky and launches Shroud projectiles high into the air; circles on the ground show where each one will land, and the impacts deal heavy area damage. | Watch the ground for the circles and move out of them; keep rotating rather than standing still to attack. |
| Shroud Breath | Rears up facing you and breathes a sweep of Shroud energy in an arc in front of it. It locks its aim when it rears up and does not follow you afterwards. | As soon as it stands up facing you, run to either side or behind it; you have one to two seconds. |
| Pounce | Crouches low on all four legs, then leaps and lands where you were standing. It uses this mostly when you fight from range. | Keep moving and dodge at the last moment. A stone pillar or other large object between you and the boss stops the leap. |
| Tail Sweep | Swings its tail at anyone in melee range, usually after you have stayed close for three or four seconds. A hit stuns you and deals heavy damage. | Watch for the first twitch and dodge-roll away. |
| Summon Fell Beetles | Stands on its hind legs with a large ball of Shroud glowing in its mouth and roars, calling a swarm of Fell Beetles that hurt badly when they attack together. | Shoot the glowing mouth: a direct hit stuns it, and a hit early in the roar stops the beetles from spawning. Kill any beetles that do appear before going back to the boss. |
Resistances and Weaknesses
Weaknesses:
- Hitting the glowing Shroud orb in its mouth while it roars to summon beetles stuns it.
- It takes more damage while stunned; the stun lasts around 10 seconds.
Resistances: Outside its stun window it takes much less damage from every damage type.
How to Beat the Fell Wispwyvern
- Bring healing: greater health potions from the Alchemist, bandages, and mana potions for a mage.
- Stack stamina and regeneration: Chamomile Tea adds health regeneration and +2 Endurance, and Flask of the Fell adds stamina; stamina matters more than health here because you need it to dodge.
- Use your buff consumables on the ramparts above the courtyard; once you drop in the boss spawns and you cannot leave until it dies.
- Carry a fast ranged attack even on a melee build, and save it for the beetle roar.
- When it roars, hit the mouth, then rush in and unload damage during the stun. Back off and dodge when it recovers, and repeat; four or five stun rounds are usually enough.
- Use the courtyard pillars as cover against the pounce.
Drops
| Item | Image | Amount |
|---|---|---|
| Fell Wispwyvern Head | 1x | |
| Shroud Core | 3x | |
| Legendary Runes | 10x | |
| Commander's Ring | 1x | |
| Key to The Pike | - | 1x |
The head is the boss item for strengthening the Flame from level 3 to level 4, which raises Shroud time to 8 minutes and opens the Nomad Highlands. Extra heads make wall trophies at the Hunter: plain (1 head), Bronze (3) and Iron (5).
Lore
The head's description says its glowing brood was once seen as a lucky sign when they skipped over the waves near Pikemead's Reach, before the Shroud corrupted them. The Blacksmith sensed a dark presence at the capital and feared a strange glow rising from the riverbed; the quest calls the boss the castle beast. The Commander's Ring is engraved as a gift to Cyrus, a loyal commander and friend, and was found inside the creature's maw.
Notes
- It is a unique boss found only at The Pike.
- Defeating it is an objective of Reach The Capital, Pikemead's Reach, given by the Blacksmith after Crucible Needed For A Smelter; the quest rewards the head and 150 XP.
- It respawns: resting or lingering in the castle lets it come back, so it can be killed again for another ring and head.
- The Key to The Pike opens every locked door in the castle, where the Guard of the North armor set is found.
- The Commander's Ring adds health, mana and stamina (the official wiki lists +40 health, +16 mana and +8 stamina; other guides give different numbers).
- Several guides describe its spray and breath as ice or frost; the official wiki and other guides name them Shroud attacks.
