The Pike is the ruined castle of the royal family at the northern end of Pikemead's Reach, in Revelwood. The Fell Wispwyvern boss haunts its courtyard. Its luminous young were once seen skipping over the waves as a good omen, until the Shroud corrupted them. The Blacksmith's quest Reach The Capital, Pikemead's Reach ends here. The beast drops the Key to The Pike, which opens the throne room and the Royal Set.
Where to Find The Pike - Map Location
The castle stands at the northern end of Pikemead's Reach, just behind the city. Skimmer's Cove lies to the west. Enter the upper castle by the grapple point to the left of the main gate.

Quests
The Blacksmith gives Reach The Capital, Pikemead's Reach after Crucible Needed For A Smelter. He feels a dark presence in the capital and a strange glow from the riverbed. The city shows no sign of the glow, so the trail leads on to the castle. An eerie silence hangs over it until the beast appears. Defeating it pays the Fell Wispwyvern Head, needed for the third upgrade of the Flame Altar.

Enemies
The Fell Wispwyvern is a boss found only here. It sprays Shroud bolts, breathes Shroud, pounces and sweeps with its tail. When it roars, it summons Fell Beetles. Hitting it in the mouth during that roar stuns it. It drops its head, the Key to The Pike and the Commander's Ring.

Unique Loot
The Commander's Ring is decorated with azure gems. Its engraving reads "To Cyrus, my most loyal Commander and friend", and it was found in the beast's maw. The Royal Set lies in a gold chest behind the throne room. Use the Key to The Pike, then head to the back right of the room. The Guard of the North Helmet waits in another gold chest in the castle.

Lore Pages
The pages of Valory's Life are spread through the castle. "A Dull Life" lies on a wooden platform in the throne room. The young Valory, a farmer's child, follows a whistled tune into the forest and meets a bard. "Call to Adventure" sits in a back room that needs the key. Her father tells her that her strong hands were made for farming. In "Carving Destiny", one floor below the top of the south-eastern tower, she carves a flute and walks away from the farm for good. "Setting Sail" lies past the right tower. Its writer, alone in a tower as the city drowns in Shroud, wishes she had seized a ship and sailed away.
