Conjuration is the school of summoning in Skyrim, covering everything called out of Oblivion or raised from a corpse. It has fifteen perks, more than any other tree in the game.
Six Kinds Of Spell
The school is combat-focused but in a different way from Destruction: it puts something else between you and the enemy.
- Summon spells call a creature, usually a Daedra, to fight for you.
- Reanimation raises the corpse of a dead NPC to do the same.
- Banish returns a summoned Daedra to Oblivion.
- Command places a summoned Daedra under your control.
- Bound weapons conjure an ethereal weapon into your hands.
- Soul Trap fills soul gems, which is what makes this school matter to Enchanting.
One At A Time, Or Two
You can have one summoned creature or one reanimated corpse active, not both, and not two of either. The Twin Souls perk raises that to two, and it is the single reason most conjurers fill the tree.
Spell Types
Soul Trap is the link to Enchanting.
| Type | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Summon | Calls a creature to fight |
| Reanimation | Raises a corpse |
| Banish | Sends a Daedra back |
| Command | Takes control of a Daedra |
