Insightful Enchanter opens the armour line of the Enchanting tree in Skyrim. It requires skill level 50 and Enchanter, and it makes new skill enchantments on armour twenty-five per cent stronger.
The Perk Behind Every Crafting Loop
Skill enchantments are the Fortify effects: Fortify Smithing, Fortify Alchemy, Fortify One-Handed, Fortify Destruction and the rest. Strengthening them is what makes the three crafting skills feed each other.
Four pieces of Fortify Alchemy make stronger potions, a Fortify Enchanting potion makes stronger gear, and four pieces of Fortify Smithing push weapons and armour past what the Smithing perks allow on their own. This perk raises the ceiling on every step of that loop.
Where It Leads
Corpus Enchanter follows at level 70, and Corpus is one of the two ways into Extra Effect. As with the elemental perks, the wording says armour but clothing and jewellery are covered too, which is exactly where most Fortify enchantments end up.
