Black Unicorn is a Relic steel sword from the base game. It can be looted or crafted. The crafted variant deals 360-440 damage at level 46, with +10% Aard intensity and +10% bleed chance. The looted variant is on the body of Kernun, a leshen in the woods outside Novigrad. The diagram shows up after level 30, which makes the crafted sword a late-game piece.

Both variants pair Aard intensity with bleed chance and have 3 rune slots. The looted variant rolls +1-12% Aard intensity with +5% bleed chance. Its level and damage are also rolled when it drops, so a good copy can beat the crafted one on Aard.

How to Get Black Unicorn

Loot: Take it from Kernun's body, or from the treasure chest guarded by a water hag north-northwest along the coast from the Inn at the Crossroads. It is also random loot.
Crafted: Find Diagram: Black Unicorn at a random diagram location after level 30, or in some caves in Velen and Skellige. Take it to a master blacksmith.

Notes

In NG+ the crafted variant needs level 38 plus the starting level and deals 308.6-377.8 damage at level 39.
