Griffin Silver Sword - Superior is the Superior tier of the Griffin (Griffin School) silver sword, witcher gear from the base game. It deals 337-411 damage at level 26 and gives +15% sign intensity. Its diagram is in a large underground cave just west of Elverum Lighthouse on Ard Skellig. It belongs to the mid game.
It also gives +25% crit damage, a 10% chance to dismember and +20% bonus experience from monsters, with 3 rune slots. Griffin gear leans on sign intensity, and the set bonuses reward casting signs, so it suits a signs build.
Against the Enhanced tier, it raises sign intensity from 10% to 15%, adds the crit damage and dismember chance, and has 3 rune slots instead of 2.
Set Bonus
The Griffin set is medium armor. It has five tiers: Basic at level 11, Enhanced at 18, Superior at 26, Mastercrafted at 34 and Grandmaster at 40. The 3-piece and 6-piece bonuses come from Grandmaster pieces worn as a school set. 3 pieces: after a sign cast in standard mode with stamina, the next sign cast within 3 seconds costs no stamina. 6 pieces: Yrden traps are 40% larger, and inside the trap stamina regeneration rises by 5 per second, sign intensity rises by 100% and damage taken drops by 20%.

- Start Scavenger Hunt: Griffin School Gear Upgrade Diagrams - Part 3. The diagram can also be collected without the quest.
- Go to the large underground cave just west of Elverum Lighthouse on Ard Skellig and take the diagram.
- A journeyman blacksmith crafts it from Griffin Silver Sword - Enhanced.
Griffin Silver Sword - Superior Map Location and Quest Guide
The pin marks the end of a large cave just west of Elverum Lighthouse, on the southern tip of Ard Skellig. The Griffin Silver Sword - Superior diagram sits in one of the chests behind the tomb in the final room. It turns up during Scavenger Hunt: Griffin School Gear Upgrade Diagrams - Part 3.
- Start Scavenger Hunt: Griffin School Gear Upgrade Diagrams - Part 3 by finding any of its diagrams, or by buying Edwin Greloff's third map from the armorer in Hierarch Square.
- Go to the large cave just west of Elverum Lighthouse.
- Enter through the unmarked entrance and go right at the first split.
- Follow the path all the way to the final room.
- Loot the chests in the area behind the tomb. One of them holds the silver sword diagram.

Notes
In NG+ the diagram makes Legendary Griffin Silver Sword - Superior instead. It needs level 26 plus the NG+ starting level, deals 346-422 damage at level 27 and gives +23% sign intensity, +50% crit damage and +10% crit chance.
