Legendary Griffin Armor is the NG+ Legendary variant of the basic Griffin Armor, a medium witcher chest armor. It gives 95 armor at level 12 and +22% sign intensity. It needs level 11 plus the NG+ starting level. The diagram is in Velen.
It also gives +19% piercing, +17% bludgeoning, +24% slashing and +26% monster resistance. The regular Griffin Armor gives 90 armor and +5% sign intensity. The sign bonus suits a signs build.
Set Bonus
The Griffin set is medium armor with five tiers, Basic to Grandmaster. 3 pieces: after a sign cast with stamina, the next sign within 3 seconds costs no stamina. 6 pieces: Yrden traps are 40% larger, and inside them stamina regen rises by 5/s, sign intensity by 100% and damage taken drops by 20%.
How to Get Legendary Griffin Armor
- In NG+, start Scavenger Hunt: Griffin School Gear.
- Find the diagram next to George's tomb in Dragonslayer's Grotto.
- A journeyman armorer crafts it.
Legendary Griffin Armor Map Location and Quest Guide
The Legendary Griffin Armor diagram sits in a chest at the far end of Dragonslayer's Grotto in Velen, the final resting place of the witcher George. The pin marks the grotto, the armor stop of Scavenger Hunt: Griffin School Gear. In New Game +, this legendary diagram replaces the standard one at the same spot.
- Buy Edwin Greloff's first or second map from the armorer in Midcopse to start Scavenger Hunt: Griffin School Gear. Finding any of the diagrams also starts it.
- Go to Dragonslayer's Grotto, drop down into the area and enter the cave.
- Kill the wraiths and head down the main hall.
- Blast the weak wall with Aard and kill the wraith behind it.
- Clear the toxic gas clouds in the tunnel with Igni or Aard, and fight any wraiths on the way.
- Prepare for a fight, then blast the rocks at the end of the tunnel. An ekimmara waits behind them.
- Kill the ekimmara and loot the chest with the glowing lights for the Legendary Griffin Armor diagram.
