The Beast of White Orchard is a main quest that runs inside Lilac and Gooseberries. The Nilfgaardian commander in White Orchard knows where Yennefer went. He will only share it in return for the head of a griffin. Geralt learns that the commander's soldiers killed the griffin's mate. Griffins mate for life, so the male now attacks the people nearby.
The Beast of White Orchard Map Location and Quest Guide
The Beast of White Orchard map location:
- Talk to Tomira, the herbalist, about buckthorn.
- Swim into the river and use Witcher Senses to find buckthorn on the riverbed.
- Go to the hut of Mislav, the hunter.
- Follow his tracks into the woods with Witcher Senses.
- Help Mislav kill the pack of wild dogs.
- Follow Mislav to the place where the soldiers died.
- Examine the site with Witcher Senses.
- Follow the soldiers' tracks up the hill to the griffin's nest.
- Search the nest and the body of the female griffin.
- Return to the inn and talk to Vesemir about the trap.
- Brew a Thunderbolt potion for the fight.
- Meet Vesemir in the field and take the crossbow he offers.
- Shoot the griffin with the crossbow to bring it down when it flies.
- Chase the griffin to the windmill when it flees, and kill it there.
- Take the griffin's head as a trophy.
- Return to the Nilfgaardian Garrison to collect the reward.

Choices
The commander offers coin when Geralt brings back the head. Geralt can take the money or turn it down. Turning it down gives more experience instead of crowns. Either way, the commander says that Yennefer has gone to Vizima.
