Arthur Jenkins is a senior member of Arasaka's counter-intelligence division and head of its office in Night City. One of his own staff calls him a very capable psychopath, which is what makes him an effective leader. For a Corpo V, he is the boss and the man who once saved V from a far harder life.

The Rivalry

Jenkins despises his superior and rival, Susan Abernathy, the director of special operations. He claims she double-crossed him when they worked together in Osaka and then stole the director's post from him by smearing him before the company's board.

The Plot

A damaging leak about an incident in Frankfurt puts Arasaka's licence for its bases on the Moon at risk. Jenkins orders a cyberattack on the European Space Council to delay the vote. Abernathy calls to criticise the move as messy and costly. Jenkins decides to remove her, and he gives V money to hire the killers. But Carter Smith has already told Abernathy everything.

Abernathy's agents seize the shard with all the evidence Jenkins collected against her. Jenkins and most of his division are executed. V is spared only because Jackie Welles steps in, and V is left fired and broke, with nothing but Jenkins's money to start over.
