Pay It Forward rewards V for pulling a blade back out of a body. The first melee attack with a throwable weapon after retrieving one does enormous damage. It sits in the throwable weapon branch of the Cool tree. It makes picking the knife up part of the attack.

A thrown knife has to be collected, and that collection is normally dead time in the middle of a fight.

This perk makes it the setup for the hardest hit the branch has. Walk to the body, take the blade, and the swing that follows lands for several times its usual damage, which is often enough to finish the next enemy outright.
