Cool Perks

Feline Footwork

Cool perks are the ones bought in the Cool tree, and they cover three styles that look different and share one idea. Stealth keeps V unseen, the marksman branch rewards a single well placed shot, and the throwable branch does the same with a thrown knife or axe. All three are built on precision rather than volume, which is what the Cool attribute improves.

Best Cool Perks

The Cool Perks below are the ones almost every build of the tree ends up buying, either because a branch is bought through them or because what they unlock cannot be had any other way.

Name Image Attribute Tier Effect
Feline Footwork Feline Footwork Cool Rookie (4) When crouched: +15% Movement Speed. +15% Mitigation Chance. Mitigation grants a chance to reduce incoming damage by current Mitigation Strength (default 50%.)
Focus Focus Cool Pro (9) +10% Headshot and Weakspot damage
Deadeye Deadeye Cool Phenom (15) +10% headshot and weak spot damage.
Ninjutsu Ninjutsu Cool Phenom (15) +15% Movement Speed.
Juggler Juggler Cool Phenom (15) -15% recovery time for throwable weapons.
Scorpion Sting Scorpion Sting Cool Pro (9) -15% recovery time for throwable weapons.

Gates

Rookie holds the crouching and cover perks and the first quiet kill. Pro introduces the Focus mode and the poison that thrown blades carry. Phenom holds Deadeye, Ninjutsu and Juggler, which are the payoff perks of the branches. Legend holds one perk for each of them.

Stealth

Feline Footwork is the start of it. It makes crouching faster and far more likely to shrug off a hit, which turns the stealth stance into something that can be fought from. Blind Spot then ties detection time to that same protection, so a tougher stealth build is also a quieter one, while Small Target and Unexposed cover standing still and aiming from cover.

Ninjutsu carries the branch to a crouched sprint, which moves quickly and silently at the cost of stamina. Serpentine protects that sprint, Shinobi Sprint makes it cheap in combat, Creeping Death pays health, stamina and speed for an unseen kill, and Vanishing Act makes optical camo switch itself on while V is moving.

Killer Instinct sits beside all of it, raising damage with knives, axes and silenced guns before anyone is alerted and showing an estimate of that damage first. Gag Order and Quick Getaway cover what happens immediately afterwards.

Marksmanship

Focus starts this branch. It raises headshot and weak spot damage, and then adds a mode that switches itself on whenever V aims at full stamina, making shots free for a couple of seconds and charging a large amount of stamina when it ends.

Head To Head resets that window on a kill, No Sweat removes its cost, Deep Breath slows time while it runs, and Pull! and Rinse And Reload each read it in their own way. Deadeye above them raises headshot and weak spot damage again and opens the upper branch, where California Reaper returns stamina, High Noon speeds up and slows down a reload, Long Shot removes damage falloff and Quick Draw makes swapping to a precision weapon fast and free.

Nerves Of Tungsten-Steel and Run 'N' Gun finish the branch, one for revolvers and rifles and one for pistols.

Throwable Weapons

Scorpion Sting starts this branch, shortening the wait between throws and then making an accurate hit apply poison. Neurotoxin adds blinding to that poison, Corrosion extends it to machines, Accelerated Toxin Absorption cashes it in for instant damage and Parasite heals V for a precise throw.

Juggler is the payoff. A precise kill with a thrown weapon resets every throwing cooldown at once, which removes the weapon's only real limit. Sleight Of Hand stacks critical damage each time that happens, Pay It Forward rewards pulling the blade back out of a body, and the branch's finisher heals V and fires Juggler as it lands. Style Over Substance finishes it by guaranteeing critical hits with a thrown blade while V is moving.

Notes

Road Warrior sits outside those branches and lets a Sandevistan or a Kerenzikov be used from behind the wheel, with extra weapon damage while the car is drifting or airborne.

The Headhunter skill rises with this tree and its rewards reach every branch, from reduced visibility to no weapon sway while crouched to faster throw recovery.
