Race Against Mind turns V's own danger into quickhack damage. While Overclock is running, the lower V's health, the harder the hacks hit. It sits in the netrunning branch of the Intelligence tree. It makes the price of the mode into part of its power.

Effect

Overclock already costs health, so a netrunner deep into the mode is running low by design. This perk pays for exactly that state.

The health is measured when the upload begins rather than when it lands, which means the bonus is decided at the moment V commits. Healing mid upload does not take it away, and neither does it raise it.

It sits behind the Phenom gate of the Intelligence tree and is bought from Overclock.

The build is an aggressive netrunner that runs the mode deep rather than carefully, since the bonus grows as health falls.

Buy it at the Phenom gate from Overclock. It works against Sublimation and Power Surge, which heal V during the mode, so a build has to decide whether it is spending health for damage or managing it for survival. The Body healing branch is the usual safety net either way.
