Delivery From Above is a reported crime on Sage Gulch Road in Rattlesnake Creek, in the southern Badlands. Beside a burned out car lies a netrunner called Jackal. Jackal had recruited an agent inside Arasaka, and was waiting for a drop from the sky when a hostile netrunner found him. The drop still landed, down the road near the abandoned fuel station.
Story
Falling from the Sky
The journal remarks that acid rain is not the only thing that falls from the sky over Night City. It also wonders who this netrunner worked for.
The Transcript
A shard on the body records Jackal's last talk with a handler known only as NC#1554. Jackal reports that he is in position, and that he has recruited an agent inside Arasaka. The value of the agent's intel is still unclear. The drop area is secure, and Jackal waits for the pickup.
Then both sides pick up worrying readings. A hostile netrunner is attacking. The handler orders Jackal to disconnect, but Jackal refuses, because they would lose the payload. He fights back with countermeasures. The handler asks if it is Arasaka. Jackal has no idea. As the payload falls from twenty five thousand feet, the handler counts down and sends the coordinates of the landing point. Jackal says he will not make it. The handler begs him to cut the connection, but it is too late.
