Silver Pixel Cloud

Silver Pixel Cloud
Type Drive-in theater
Owner Silver Pixel

Silver Pixel Cloud is an abandoned drive-in cinema on Milagro Terrace in North Oak, on the eastern hills of the city. It belonged to Silver Pixel, a company that ran drive-in theatres across North America. It was once a favourite of the nomads who came to the city.

History

The Nomads' Cinema

The cinema let nomads watch old and new films on a giant screen without leaving their beloved cars. Its parking lots were packed most nights, and the Steel Vaqueros saw it as the perfect date night after a long haul along the West Coast. City gangs came too, for classic films and cult screenings. A netrunner ran the films, and he made extra money on the side by selling pirate copies of new releases.

Silver Pixel never needed its own guards. Anyone who tried to attack the cinema soon found out how much the nomads and film loving gangs valued it. Business was good enough that the company later made the car park bigger.

Closing

When the Unification War began, Silver Pixel ran into trouble and had to close a number of its theatres. The Night City cinema was meant to stay open, but the company's chief executive soon announced that it would close by the end of the year. Staff were offered a move to other company sites.

Inside Silver Pixel Cloud

The cinema was never taken apart. The screen and the projector still work, so anyone who gets in can power it up and watch the films still stored there. One of them is Bushido X: Fade to Black.

Jobs

Rogue Amendiares asks to be taken to the old cinema in Blistering Love. The screen and the empty lot set the scene for a quiet night with her.
