North Oak is the richest corner of Night City, a quiet district of villas in the hills of Westbrook. Gardeners keep plants alive in a city where almost nothing grows. The Arasaka Estate and Kerry Eurodyne's villa are here. The North Oak sign looks down over the city.
History
North Oak is the newest part of the city. Half a century ago it was dry hills on the north east edge of Night City. After the nuclear blast at the Arasaka Towers, refugee camps and favelas grew up here and lasted for decades.
In the early 2050s the city government, backed by the corporations, cleared the area by force in what the corporate media called a war on crime. Developers built over the ruins, and North Oak became the most valuable land in the city.
Thousands of desperate people moved to the higher ground after the blast and put up shacks with tin roofs. Over the next years the hill became almost a district of its own, and its poverty was a grim reminder of the past.

Life in North Oak
The residents of North Oak live behind walls and private security, far from the poverty of the rest of the city. Many people were once reluctant to buy land where the homeless had lived, but the media campaign buried that history.
The North Oak Columbarium and the North Oak sign are landmarks of the district, and both appear in jobs.
Its residents are the wealthiest people in the city: corporate executives, investors, actors, and musicians who live next door to their producers. Rock stars such as Kerry Eurodyne live here too. The villas stand in spacious grounds with their own climate and neatly kept lawns. For most people in Night City, North Oak is the dream neighbourhood.
