Blistering Love

Blistering Love
Type	Side Job
Giver	Johnny Silverhand
Region	Watson
Location	Afterlife
Previous	Chippin' In
Next	Holdin' On

Blistering Love is the side job in which Johnny Silverhand asks V to take Rogue Amendiares on the date he never gave her. It follows Chippin' In, if V gave Johnny a second chance or answered him warmly at his grave. V picks Rogue up at the Afterlife and drives her to Silver Pixel Cloud, an abandoned drive in cinema in North Oak, then hands the body to Johnny for the night.

Story

One Night

Johnny's journal entry is wistful. He cannot remember why he and Rogue were always at each other's throats. He only remembers the good times, and how few of them there were. Now he has one night to make it up to her. A film date sounds boring, he admits, but they never did normal, boring things. Better late than never.

V calls Rogue on Johnny's behalf and asks where she would go on a date. She picks the old drive in cinema, Silver Pixel Cloud, in North Oak. V agrees to pick her up at the Afterlife in the evening.

The Drive

At the Afterlife, Rogue is talking with Emmerick Bronson, who looks disappointed that she is going out with V. In the car, Rogue may remark on the memories she has of it. She says that the cinema was originally her idea for Johnny, and that his idea of a romantic night out was raiding the Arasaka Towers. She asks what Johnny is after, and V says he has changed and wants to make up for his past.

Silver Pixel Cloud

The cinema is shut and locked. In the office by the entrance, a terminal holds a message with the door code. Inside, Rogue walks over to an old car wreck, while V climbs to the projection booth and starts the film, Bushido X: Fade to Black. Then V takes the pills and gives Johnny control.

Johnny sits beside Rogue on the car and they watch the film, talking about the past. Rogue asks him to pretend it is the old days and asks what he would change. What happens next depends on Johnny's words: a romantic moment between them, or a gentle refusal. Either way, Rogue says she is no longer the woman he knew, and in time she leaves. Johnny hands control back to V, and asks V to go and see Kerry Eurodyne.

Choices

Johnny and Rogue

For the romantic ending, ask Rogue how she imagined the date, joke that Johnny lured her to the films to get laid, say he would do anything not to lose her, say that all that matters is that he came back to her, and then kiss her. A short romantic scene follows before Rogue stops it, saying it does not feel right anymore.

Other answers lead Johnny to admit that he has little to offer and that he messed up, and Rogue suggests they simply keep watching the film.

Getting the Job

At Johnny's grave in Chippin' In, answering "A hard road, but looks like we made it" and then "Johnny, no need to bare your soul to me" starts this job. So do the answers that open the secret ending.
