Slippery

Slippery
Slippery
Class Reflexes Perk
Attribute Reflexes
Tier Rookie (4)
Levels 1

Slippery makes V harder to hit the faster V moves. Dashing, dodging, sliding, sprinting and vaulting all push the effect higher, so the answer to incoming fire becomes movement rather than cover. It is the first pick in the Reflexes tree and most of the movement branch is bought through it. Any build that intends to keep moving starts here.

Effect

The protection is tied to speed rather than to a timer or a cooldown. Standing still gives nothing, walking gives a little, and a slide or a dash gives the most.

That inverts the usual advice. A build with this perk is safest in the open while it is moving and least safe behind a crate, which is the opposite of how most shooters are played and the reason the Reflexes tree feels different from the others.

How to Unlock Slippery

It sits behind the Rookie gate of the Reflexes tree, so the first points V puts into Reflexes reach it. Nothing is bought before it.

Perk Tree

Buying Slippery opens the perks below.

Name Image Tier Effect
Dash Dash Pro (9) -20% Stamina cost for dodging and dashing.
Lead And Steel Lead And Steel Pro (9) -15% Stamina cost attacks with Blades.
Multitasker Multitasker Rookie (4) Allows you to shoot while sprinting, sliding and vaulting.
Muscle Memory Muscle Memory Rookie (4) Allows you to reload weapons while sprinting, sliding and vaulting.
Parkour! Parkour! Rookie (4) Increased vaulting and climbing speed.
Power Slide Power Slide Rookie (4) Increased slide distance.

Character Builds

The build is the one that raises Reflexes first and never stops moving. An assault rifle, a submachine gun or a katana is the weapon, and the whole point is that cover is replaced by speed.

Buy it with the first points that reach the Rookie gate, then take Multitasker and Muscle Memory immediately. Those two remove the reasons to stand still, which is what makes the protection continuous rather than occasional. Parkour! and Power Slide follow, and Dash at the Pro gate is where the build really arrives.

Notes

The branch above it removes every reason to stop moving. Multitasker allows shooting on the run, Muscle Memory allows reloading, and Parkour! and Power Slide make the moves themselves faster and longer.

Assault rifles, submachine guns and blades are what the Reflexes attribute improves, and all three are used at speed.
