Bane of Bones is a mace in Dragon's Dogma 2, wielded by the Fighter. It is the lightest mace in the game. Upgraded through Battahli and then Wyrmfire smithing, it reaches 277 Strength.

A mace inscribed with a prayer for the dead to know rest. Especially destructive against skeletal fiends.

How to get Bane of Bones and Map Location

Bane of Bones can be found inside a treasure chest in Abandoned Home, near the campsite and north from Forgotten Ruins in Misty Marshes. Misty Marshes are located between Vermund and Battahl.

Smithing Upgrade Guide

Every weapon can be enhanced three times at an armoury or smithy, each time for gold and the materials listed below, and a fourth time with Wyrmfire. Any armoury or smithy works on weapons and armour alike. Each smith works in one style, and you can mix styles from one level to the next.

Vermundian raises every attribute moderately. Armouries and smithies in Vermund offer it, such as Roderick's Smithy and Bjorn's Armory in Vernworth.
Elven raises Magick and Magick Defense greatly, Strength and Defense only a little. Grisha's Armory in Sacred Arbor offers it.
Battahli raises Strength and Defense greatly, Magick and Magick Defense only a little. Armouries in Battahl offer it, such as Awaran's Arms and Bodas's Armory in Bakbattahl.
Dwarven raises Knockdown Power and Knockdown Resistance. Sara at Brokkr's Smithy offers it after Steeled Resolve, Blazing Forge, and Gautstafr after Put a Spring in Thy Step.
Wyrmfire halves the weight and gives a further boost once the first three enhancements are done. The Dragonforged at Bay Wayside Shrine takes payment in Wyrmslife Crystals instead of gold.

Taking Bane of Bones to level 3 costs 4,606 G in all, whichever style you choose. Battahli smithing gives it the most Strength at level 3 (217), while Dwarven gives the most Knockdown Power (280). Wyrmfire then costs 15 Wyrmslife Crystals.
