The Ash of War: Scattershot Throw is an Ash of War in Elden Ring that grants the Keen affinity and the Scattershot Throw skill. It is part of the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion.

Scattershot Throw uses smithing arts to conjure copies of the throwing blade in both hands and hurls them all at once in a wide spread. An additional input throws a second volley for the same FP again. Up to four blades can strike a single target, and all of them deal pierce damage, which benefits from counter hits. It suits Dexterity builds that want burst damage at short to mid range against large enemies and bosses.

Stats

It grants the Keen affinity and a Whetblade can switch it to Standard, Heavy, Quality, Fire, Flame Art, Lightning, Sacred, Magic, Cold, Poison, Blood or Occult. The skill costs 11 FP. It fits Throwing Blade.

Skill

The spread is widest at range, so large targets take the most hits while small enemies may only catch one or two. At close range the skill gains an extra hitbox and deals more damage per use. Using it as a punish during an enemy's recovery adds counter damage to every blade.

"Employ smithing arts to conjure multiple copies of the armament in both hands and throw them all at once. Follow up with an additional input to throw again."

Notes

  • Without FP the skill throws only two blades, though they keep the extended range.
  • The skill deals reduced damage against other players.
