The Ancient Ruins of Rauh are huge, flooded ruins in the north-west of the Realm of Shadow. A great chasm splits them in two, and plants have overgrown their stone roads. Waterfalls and pools fill the ruins. The Church of the Bud stands in the south-west, overlooking the tower of shadow. The ruins are explored late in the expansion, on the way to Enir-Ilim.

Lore
Rauh was home to an ancient people who lived long before the hornsent. The Crucible flourished in their land, and its power gave horns and feathers to the beasts of the region. The civilization fell for reasons now lost, and the city was split by a chasm and flooded.
The hornsent later explored the ruins, which they held sacred for their bond with the Crucible. They raised the Church of the Bud among them. During the crusade, Messmer's army burned that church and set a Sealing Tree beside it. The rest of the ruins were spared because Fire Knight Salza refused to burn them.
Geography
The ruins sit high above the Rauh Base and are joined to the Shadow Keep by a bridge in the east. They are reached from the keep's Specimen Storehouse. The Rauh Ancient Ruins, East Site of Grace opens onto the eastern half. The western half holds the Church of the Bud and the Sealing Tree behind it. A waygate at the Fifth Belfry behind Castle Ensis leads to a hidden part of the ruins.
