The Barrier of Gold is an Erdtree incantation in Elden Ring. It arrives late in the game, in Leyndell, Royal Capital.
Barrier of Gold is one of the incantations of Erdtree Worship, used by the champions of the Erdtree in the First and Second Liurnian Wars, when the red-haired Radagon joined the heroes' ranks. It sharply cuts magic damage taken for the caster and nearby allies for 70 seconds, with a smaller reduction against players, and holding the prayer delays activation. It is a very strong defensive buff, though it is found late, after much of the magic-heavy content, with bosses such as the Astels and Loretta among the main magic threats that remain. It counts as a body buff, so it does not stack with others of that type. It suits co-op groups and any build preparing for magic-heavy bosses or invaders.
Effect
Cuts magic damage taken by 60% (20% against players) for the caster and nearby allies for 70 seconds; holding the cast delays activation. Each cast costs 30 FP and 13 stamina and takes up one memory slot.
