Loretta, Knight of the Haligtree is a great boss in Elden Ring.
Loretta, Knight of the Haligtree is the living knight whose spirit guards Caria Manor. She stands at the Haligtree Promenade and blocks the road to Elphael, Brace of the Haligtree. Players who want to reach Malenia must defeat her first. She fights on horseback with a golden war sickle and a magic greatbow.
Lore
Loretta rides an armored horse and wears silver plate under a lapis-lazuli blue cape. A golden crest shaped like the Haligtree rises from her helm. She wields a long silver war sickle set with unalloyed gold.
Loretta was once a royal Carian knight and a personal guard of the Carian royal family. Her favored weapon was the bow, and she shaped her sorceries in its image. She left Caria on a long and bloody journey to find a haven for the Albinaurics. She judged the Haligtree to be their best hope of salvation.
In Miquella's service, Loretta replaced the blue glintstone of her war sickle with unalloyed gold. A rumor held that she was an Albinauric herself. She stands guard at the Haligtree long after Miquella has gone.

Phases
- Phase 1: Loretta mixes sickle swings, leaps and glintblades, and she already fires her magic greatbow.
- Phase 2: she fires four arrows that converge on the target and adds a spinning magic sickle slam.
Attacks
- Side swings and stabs with the sickle: rolling into horizontal sweeps puts the player beside the horse for a hit.
- Leap Attack: she jumps in from middle range and swings as she lands. A roll in her direction of travel avoids it, and it can be parried.
- Glintblade Phalanx: five magic blades hover and then fly at the target. Running sideways or rolling late avoids them.
- Loretta's Greatbow: a single great arrow in phase one. A spell parry or a sideways roll handles it.
- Loretta's Mastery: four arrows that converge from above in phase two. A sideways roll as the arrows fall avoids them.
- Spinning magic slam: the horse rears, she swings twice and slams down. Running back from the swings and rolling forward on the slam opens a long recovery.
Tactics
- Equip magic protection, because most of her ranged attacks deal magic damage.
- Summon a durable spirit to hold her attention while dealing damage.
- Stay at middle range to bait the Leap Attack, then dodge or parry it.
- Use jump attacks and charged heavy attacks to break her stance.
- Break line of sight or roll late when she nocks the greatbow.
- In phase two, roll sideways as the four arrows converge, then punish the slam recovery.
