The Vortex of Putrescence is a Death sorcery in Elden Ring. It is one of the expansion's additions, found in the Land of Shadow.
Vortex of Putrescence is the sorcery of the Putrescent Knight, recalling an age when Death was burned by ghostflame and even tainted flesh was given equal treatment in death. It launches putrescent jets in a wide circle around the caster that burst into ghostflame shortly after landing, dealing heavy magic damage and heavy frostbite buildup to anything nearby. The jets cause short stagger, making it a strong answer to groups surrounding the caster. It cannot be charged, and despite being a death sorcery it gains nothing from the Prince of Death's Staff. It suits frost and death sorcerers who want a close-range area attack with strong frostbite.
Effect
Launches a whirl of putrescent jets in a wide circle around the caster that burst into ghostflame, dealing magic damage and building up frostbite. Each cast costs 29 FP and 45 stamina and takes up two memory slots.
How to Get Vortex of Putrescence Guide
Vortex of Putrescence is obtained by trading the Remembrance of Putrescence, dropped by Putrescent Knight, with Finger Reader Enia at the Roundtable Hold.
- Defeat Putrescent Knight to obtain the Remembrance of Putrescence.
- Travel to the Roundtable Hold and talk to Finger Reader Enia.
