A Glimpse Of Eternity is a long tomb-hunting quest from the Alchemist. It follows a mad wizard who searched for a spell of eternal life in hidden tombs across the land. Each tomb holds one of his failed experiments, and each failure is a strong spell for the player: an eternal fireball, a healing beam, a lightning spell and an eternal ice bolt. The quest rewards Eternal Fireball II and 75 XP at the end.
Walkthrough
The wizard leaves a written clue in every tomb that points to the next one:
- Finish Obtaining A Mill, place the Mill in the base and raise the Flame to level 8. Then speak to the Alchemist.
- Search the first hidden tomb the Alchemist marks, and read the record of the wizard's first failed experiment.
- Follow his clue: cross from the water past Gateway Outpost "Darkwater" into the jungle and find the next tomb. It holds his eternal fireball.
- Go on to the hidden tomb behind the great tower in the lake, close to Goldrock Saddle. Here he made a healing beam channel.
- Find the next tomb near the Mining Rift on the way to the Blackmire. It is a maze-like tunnel, and he made a lightning spell there.
- Search the last tomb near Stillwater Bay, towards the foot of the hills. His final experiment was an eternal ice bolt.
- Return to the Alchemist and report what the wizard left behind.
Hidden tombs are often sealed under sand or rubble. Digging around the entrance markers and looking for secret doors inside pays off, and several of them hold gold sarcophagi.
Prerequisites
This quest opens after Obtaining A Mill, a quest from the Alchemist. That quest leads to Riverreach, a mill town in the Veilwater Basin held by Scavengers. The town's sluice gates must be closed to stop the grinding machinery. A pickaxe then digs a way into the basement under the sawmill, where the Improved Millstone lies. Back at the base, the Alchemist crafts the Mill from it, and the Mill must be placed. After that, the Alchemist shares the story of a mad wizard who searched for a spell of eternal life.
