At double the span of the short beam, the Ashwood Beam 2 m carries a floor or a roofline across the full width of a standard wall in one piece. It sits beside the poles in the Supports section, and it is the piece most builders reach for first when framing a hall out of Ashwood.
How to Build It
It costs four Ashwood, placed with a Workbench in range. One long beam holds better than two short ones butted end to end, because fewer joints means less support lost on the way out from the post. Frame with the two metre piece wherever it fits and keep the one metre beam for odd gaps. Like the rest of the Ashwood set, it shrugs off fire but not rain.
