The Ashwood Wall is a two-metre square panel of fire-blackened timber, and it is what an Ashlands longhouse is really built from. At two Ashwood each, it is cheap enough to build in bulk. You will use it more than anything else in the Walls menu: a full course of them between poles gives you a room that rain cannot rot and fire cannot burn.
How to Build It
Each panel costs 2x Ashwood and needs a Workbench in range to place or repair. Frame with poles and beams first so the load has a path down to the ground, then fill in the walls. The reason to carry Ashwood out of the Ashlands is that a wall made of it is untouched by weather and will not burn, which is the difference between a base that stands and one you rebuild after every raid.
