A lattice of forged bars in a one metre frame, the Cage wall 1x1 comes from the Walls tab of the build menu and costs a single bar of Iron. It only looks open. Nothing passes through it, not arrows and not smoke, so builders use it for pens, cells and lookout slits that let you watch a raid without taking an arrow.
How to Build It
It costs one Iron per panel, and a Forge has to be within range before the game lets you place it or repair it later. That repair rule is the catch to plan around, since a pen out in the wilds means hauling a forge along with you. The small panel takes no damage from rain, so an unroofed run of 1x1 cage wall will stand there without wearing down at all.
