Flametal pillar is the upright half of the only building set in the game that can be driven straight into lava. Each one costs two Flametal from the Supports tab, and it lets a hall in the Ashlands stand on ground where nothing wooden or stone could be founded at all.

How to Build It

You place and repair it inside the range of a Black Forge, the only station that takes the flametal set. Its footings can sink into lava, so a line of these will carry a platform out over terrain that destroys any other piece, and the metal neither burns nor rots. Above the lava line, though, it holds a structure up about as well as iron reinforced timber, not like stone, so keep the gaps between pillars short.
